National Secretariat of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has terminated the appointment of Oluwaseun-Obe Ajayi as its Ex-officio representing South West zone
National President of the association, Isaiah Benjamin and General Secretary, Ikenna Okonkwo in a jointly signed letter dated 23rd of February, 2024 addressed to Ajayi which was obtained by Edu-Biznews on Sunday, accused Ajayi of his inability to assist both president and National Secretariat of SWAN to carry out their functions as required as required by Article 11 ,(i) of SWAN Statute
He was also accused in the letter of repeatedly taken unsatisfactory steps which have brought the association to state of disrepute
"With this, you are expected to handover any form of Association's document or property relating to your previous
position to the SWAN National Secretariat within seven days of
receiving this information"", the letter stated
A copy of the letter was also sent to each of the offices of South West Vice Chairman of SWAN, Oyo State Chairman of the association, State Police Commissioner, the State Director of Department of State Security Service as well as the State Commissioner of Youths and Sports and that Information and Orientation
SWAN is now shopping for his replacement within Ogun State to fill the vacant position in the National Executive Council

Termination Of Appointment As SWAN National ExOfficio
On behalf of the National Secretariat of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria(SWAN),I bring special greetings to you.
I'm directed to inform you that your appointment as National Ex-officio has been terminated, henceforth.
This followed your inability to assist the SWAN President and the National Executive Committee (NEC)in carrying out relevant functions as required by Article11 ,(i) of SWAN Statute
Your unstatutory steps and actions which have brought the Association to disrepute repeatedly also necessitated the decision of NEC.
"With this, you are expected to handover any form of Association's document or property relating to your previous
position to the SWAN National Secretariat within seven days of
receiving this information.", the letter concluded
