Ogun State House of Assembly on Tuesday, sworn in Hon. Olakunle Sobukanla (APC-Ikenne) who returned as a member of the 10th Assembly, after the Court of Appeal annulled the election of Babajide Owoduni of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
With the swearing in of Olakunle Sobukanla , the ruling APC has increased its membership strength to 18 lawmakers while the opposition PDP now reduced to eight members in the 26-member house
Sobukanla took the Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance administered on him by the Deputy Clerk, Mrs Funmilayo Adeyemi, during plenary held at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
It would be recalled that the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos had last November nullified the election of Owoduni and declared Sobukanla, who was also a member of the 9th legislature elected.
The Speaker, Right Honourable Oluomo on behalf of other lawmakers, congratulated Sobukanla for returning to the House of Assembly.
Speaking shortly after his swearing-in, Sobukanla promised to always remain a good representative of his constituents.
" I am elated, and very happy to be back to where I belong . My constituency should expect quality representation as usual. I thank Gov. Dapo Abiodun for his support," he said.
