Fresh crisis seems to be brewing in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital over ownership of the popular June 12 Panseke Market, following an alleged plot by a traditional ruler to replace the leadership of the market, Alhaji Taoreed Amodemaja and Chief (Mrs) Janet Gbadebo duly recognized by the prescribed authority of Ijemo Community who is said to be the rightful owner of the market according to the history
High Chief Yinka Kufile who is the Oluwo of Ijemo land and Aro of Egbaland reacting to the alleged plot to replace the two leadership , insisted that the Panseke Market belong to the Ijemo Community who recognizes the duo of Amodemaja as Olori Oja and Chief(Mrs) Janet Gbadebo as Iya-Oloja of the market
The High Chief who warned against any attempt by any community, traditional ruler or individuals to remove the leadership of the market , vowed that the Ijemo community would resist such illegal act which has been reported to the State Police Command to prevent any possible breakdown of law and order occasion by the pending crisis
"The Ijemo Traditional Council has for a long time inaugurated Alhaji Taoreed Amodemaja as Olori Oja Panseke and Chief (Mrs) Janet Gbadebo as the Iyaloja, they remain same as at today". It is therefore absurd for anybody or institution to attempt to institute another Olori Oja and Iyaloja", he stated
The Oluwo of Ijemo added that the whole area of Panseke, Quarry Road, Railway lines , Post Office, Mercy Hospital Road belong to Ijemo community
According to him, "the Ijemo Traditional Council is the only prescribed authority to install the Olori Oja and Iyaloja respectively"
Chief Kufile sounded it clear that the road dammacartion at Panseke should not be seen as a market divided into two, saying the market remain one under the same authority
He stated that every community in Egbaland should know its boundary and should not move beyond such boundary"Oko Koni je ti Baba ati Omo , ko maa ni Aala"
He therefore called on the police to act promptly on the letter written to its State
Command saying the people in Ijemo community are peace loving who relate well with other communities within the Egbaland
