FMBN Assures Ogun Workers Of Easy Access To Mortgage Loan... Promises To Meet Govt On Unremitted Deductions To NHF





Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has assured workers on the payroll of the Ogun State Government of enjoying full benefits of their monthly contributions to the National Housing Fund (NHF) loan scheme, through easy access to mortgage facilities to buy or build houses of their choices on retirement from service

The Lagos Zonal Manager of the bank, Mr. Ibraheem Nafada who gave the assurance on Tuesday in Abeokuta,  in an interview with newsmen on the sideline of a-day sensitization workshop organized by the Ogun State Council of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), also promised that FMBN would meet with the State Government to resolve the issue of unremitted deductions from salaries of workers to NHF, to enable them have seamless access to their contributions and enjoy various housing products being provided by the bank for workers in the country




Nafada stressing the importance of regular contributions to the housing scheme by workers, added that the FMBN would further educate government during the proposed meeting on the need for proper remittance of deductions NHF, so as to enable workers know details of their monthly contributions and how they can benefit from the various mortgage facilities on retirement from the service

"We are doing a lot on educating employers (government) on how to remit deductions to NHF and how workers can benefit from the housing scheme", he stated 




The Zonal Manager expressed confidence that workers would have easy access to mortgage facilities of the FMBN, because of the digitalization of its operations  

He enjoined workers to register their mobile numbers with the bank using the USSD code of *219# , for them to have regular update on the monthly contributions to the housing scheme

Also speaking, the State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Hameed Benco-Ademola who was represented by Secretary of the State Council, Mrs Roseline Solarin said that the workshop had provided workers with the knowledge of how to benefit from their monthly contributions to the housing scheme with the introduction of digitalization to operations of the bank




He assured that the leadership of NLC would meet with the State Government on how to ensure regular remittance of deductions from salaries of workers to NHF, particularly the outstanding unremitted deductions to the housing scheme

The workshop which attracted workers from various affiliated unions of NLC, provided the forum for them to raise issues surrounding their inability to have access to their contributions to the housing scheme and enjoy various mortgage facilities of FMBN, while others mostly under the employment of the Federal Government shared testimonies of their benefits from the bank
