Banks In Abeokuta Ignore Labour's Directive To Join Indefinite Strike



Commercial banks in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Tuesday ignored directive of the organized labour  to embark on definite nationwide strike over the recent brutal attack on the National President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Joe Ajaero in Owerri by thugs , allegedly sponsored by Imo State Government

Edu-Biznews observed most customers were seen going in and out of the banks carrying out business transactions in Asero, Adatan and Central Business District in Oke-Ilewo area of the city 

Workers were also seen at various duty post at the Federal Medical Centre in Abeokuta while few Civil servants were seen in some offices at the State Secretariat Oke-Mosan in the state capital

At some of the schools, particularly in Asero area , teachers stayed away from classrooms as  students were seen playing football within the compounds of various schools 


Meanwhile State Chairman of NLC Comrade Hameed Benco-Ademola told newsmen that the majority of workers in the state complied with substianly with the directive of labour for the indefinite industrial action to compel the Federal Government to respond to demand for implementation of various agreements reached with the labour last month as well as apologize, arrest and bring those behind the attack on its National President, Ajaero in Owerri, to book
