2023 SSCE: NECO Records 61% Performance Credit Pass In Five Subjects Including English, Maths




The National Examination Council has released the results of its  2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted for  one million,one hundred and ninety -six thousand, nine hundred and eighty-five(1,196,985)school candidates who wrote the examination, with 61.6 percent of them recording credit in five subjects and above including English Language and Mathematics 

NECO’s Registrar, Prof. Dantani Wushishi
who revealed this on Tuesday while announcing the results at a news conference in Minna, the Niger State capital, said a total of  one million, two hundred and five thousand, eight hundred and eighty-eight (1,205,888)
 candidates registered for the examination but only  one million,one hundred and ninety -six thousand, nine hundred and eighty-five (1,196,985)
 of them eventually wrote the examination 

Giving a breakdown of the figures , Wushishi said 616,398 of the candidates were male and 580,587 females sat for the Examination.

According to him , the number of candidates with five credits and above, including English and Maths were 737, 308.

Wushishi put the number of candidates with five credits, irrespective of English and Mathematics, at  1,013,611, representing 84.68 percent of the total candidates who wrote the examination 

“Number of candidates registered for the examination is 1,205,888, representing 621,084 males and 584,804 Females,” he said.

“The number of candidates that sat is 1,196,985, representing 616,398 Males and 580,587 females. Number of candidates with five Credits and above, including English and Mathematics is 737,308, representing 61.60%.

“Number of candidates with five Credits and above, irrespective of English and Mathematics is 1,013,611, representing 84.68%.”
