Abdul noted that the aim is to have good synergy between the town and the gown, when it comes to training skilled personnel, there is no way we can divulge the relationship and synergy between the industry association and institution of learning.

“YABATECH is championing a paradigm change, we are proposing and implementing what we called a quadruple elite model, towards empowering Nigerian youth. In this quadruple elite model, we want a robust relationship among institution, government, industries and the civil society.

The elite comprises of institution which is YABATECH, government represented by National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Industry being represented by MTN and COMTEAN, and the Civil Society being represented by Commonwealth of Learning (COL) and International Non-
Governmental Organization (INGO).

They will work together in piloting a collaborating model towards contributing to the empowerment of the Youth”.

He disclosed that the first piloting has taken place in which the Mastercraft were trained that was sponsored by COL, but now the major stakeholders have been brought together, TETFund, NBTE, MTN, COMTEAN, YABATECH and COL.

The model has been established and the continuous usage is to empower the Youth and to upgrade skilled and apprenticeship system in the informal sectors.

According to him, “Yabatech is entering Computer Village and dragging along COL, TETFund, to ensure that Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in this country is standardized”.

Rector charged the recipients to go out and train others, and should ensure that they get certified, because the certification is recognized globally.

The 10 Mastercraft that responsible for the training were also given MTN Internet Modem for the job well done.

The President of COMTEAN, Comrade Adedayo Adebisi thanked YABATECH and MTN for the opportunity to serve as partners in progress. Iyanda Oluwaseun on behalf of the recipients appreciated the YABATECH, MTN and COMTEAN for the good gesture.
