Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Prof Babatunde Kehinde has charged the leadership of newly elected judicial arm of the Students Union Government to always to give attention to human capacity development, so as to function more effectively in the discharge of their judicial responsibility to the students community on campus
The Vice-Chancellor gave the charge during the recent commissioning of the Judiciary complex of the Student Union Building of the University
He urged judiciary members to continue to be shining light for the students community, stressing the need for them to continue to develop ithemselves in all areas of human endeavour , commending the judiciary arm of the Students led by Emmanuel Oke for distinguishing themselves and displaging excemplary leadership worthy of emulatlon
Kehinde described the recent newly commissioned project as of a sign of progress and commitment to progress and growth of the Students Union, saying it shows that the union is now a breeding ground for future leaders
He equally urged them to work harder to earn public confidence and in their leadership
Also speaking, the Student Adviser, Prof Adetoun Ambode of the Department of Home Science and Management lauded the initiative for completing the project, saying the commissioning of the project
will not only create awareness for those who don't know about the Judiciary Arm, but will also ensure discipline among the students once they know that there is a body within them meant to checkmate their excesses.
She appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for making out time to Commission the project by himself, adding that it means a lot to the students and will go along way to move their leadership towards the right direction.
Similarly Pioneer Chief Justice of the SUG, Dr Olabisi Amsat stated that the newly constructed SUG Judiciary complex would serve as one of the relaxation spots for students to combine studies with social activities
She encouraged the students to put more structures in place to also served as a place for social activities for students, so aa to FasTrack development of the University campus
The Chief Justice of SUG, Emmanuel Adegboyega said completion of of the SUG Judiciary complex was to demonstrate the existence of judiciary as the third arm of the Students Union Government on campus
Adegboyega urged the incoming members of SUG to always preserve the integrity of the judiciary which he warned must be politicised the Arm and not politicize to ensure justice and fairness among the students community
He stressed the need for capacity building of members of the SUG Judiciary, expressing joy on the successful completion of the complex
Adegboyega appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and the entire Management for creating enabling environment for the three arms of the Students Union Government to function effectively without interference
