NASU Examination Bodies/Libraries Trade Group Re-elects Comrade Obabunmi As Chairman




The Examination Bodies and Libraries Trade Group of Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational And Associated Institutions (NASU) has re-elected Comrade Sunday Obabunmi as its Chairman/Deputy President for the second term in office

Obabunmi, a candidate from The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) branch of NASU, emerged unopposed for the position during an election conducted by General Secretary of the union, Prince Peters Adeyemi on  Wednesday at the 2023 quadrennial delegates conference held inside the hall of Excellence Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria's commercial city 

Others elected at the event include the trio of Comrade Andrew Onakpa, Comrade (Mrs) Olufunke Adegoke and Comrade Idoko Vincent as members of the National Executive Council of NASU alongside Comrade Uchenna Okeke as Treasurer and Comrade (Mrs) Rhoda Adekeye  


The re-elected Chairman of the trade group, who appreciated members of the union for returning him for the second term in office, assured them of continuity of programmes and activities that would take the union to greater height 

"This newly elected Executive members of this trade group will continue from where it stopped at end of my first term in office", he assured




Obabunmi promised to continue restrategize to the challenges confronting the State-owned Libraries , particularly the issue of poor funding of libraries in most states 

He later constituted reconciliation committee amongst other committees to address issues in the trade group


Members of the trade group who had serve the union meritoriously were also recognized and appreciated with token gifts
