Ogun School 12 Year-Old Pupil Ranks 17th Scrabble Player In Africa




A 12 year-old pupil, Aishat Sanusi from African Church Grammar School, Ita - Eko in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital has been ranked 17th best Scrabble player in Africa

Aishat who has just been promoted to final year class at the Junior Secondary School level in the new 2023/2024 academic session , won 10 of her games as one of Nigeria's players at the last month's PANASA/Winifred Awosika Foundation Africa Youth Scrabble Championships held at Chrisland School, Lagos.

She competed among 66 scrabble players from host Nigeria,Kenya, Ghana, Liberia and Uganda in the Under-15 category for boys and girls in the championship which lasted for five days 

Similarly her compatriot from Ogun State Sports Council, Lawrence Damilade, a male player  who also  won the same number of 10 games at the competition was ranked 18th in Africa 


Aishat is a daughter to one of the top officials at the Ogun State Sports Council
