Muslim Women Forum Celebrates LASU Best Graduating Student.. Tasks Tinubu, Governors To Initiate Policies To Stop Japa Syndrome

A Muslim Women Professionals and Believers forum, Al-Mu'minaat based in Ogun State has asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governors in the 36 states to redeem their campaign promises to Nigerians through initiatiation of policies and programmes that would make life meaningful and impactful for  Nigerians, to discourage the disturbing trend of travelling overseas for greener pastures 

Amirah of the Egba/Yewa Zone of the forum, Hajia Sekinat AbdRaheem Yusuf who made the call on Saturday in Abeokuta, during opening session of the 2023 Week of Muslim Women Empowerment, celebrated the academic brilliance of Aminat Yusuff, a law graduate of the Lagos State University who recorded the new acummiuative academic record of CGPA of 5.00 and emerged as overall best graduating student for the 2021/2022 set 

"As Muslimah we celebrate ourselves and our successes, we acknowledged our various contributions to the environment. Our daughters, sisters and mothers are making us proud in their various environment, worthy of note is our Dear Aminah Yusuf (The Best Graduating Student with a CGPA of 5.00) and some others sisters all over the nation"

Al-Mu'minaat described academic exploit of Aminat Yusuff as exemplary for young Muslim Women, urging government at all levels to create enabling environment through implementation of good policies and programmes to encourage the brilliant minds like Aminat to stay back and contribute to the growth of the country's economy 

"At this juncture, I call on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Government at all levels (State Governors, the Senators, House of Assembly members at both Federal and State) to live up to their electoral promises. 

Policies and programmes that will make life meaningful and impactful in the life of citizenry."

According to her, "The youths are not lazy, they wants to stop the japa syndrome but they need an enabling environment for them to thrive and show case their talents"

She urged participants at the week long activities to see themselves as special creatures who are ready to be a good mother just like the mother of Aminat Yusuff who inculcated the right values in her before achieving such academic feat 

"If we need a reminder, then I want to tell us all that we (Muslimahs) are super amazing creatures. By Allah's design, the world cannot do without us. We have all the power and energy to make the world a better place. If we need any evidence, then let us ponder on what we are doing in our various houses, with our various families" 

"We are raising the next generation of leaders and ambassadors for Islam, and it is not an easy task. Who else will do it, if not us"

"The value of women in Islam is undeniable to any logical mind. Women make up the mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters of society. "

"Women play important roles in raising upright children, upholding Islam in the home, and establishing religious values to those around them and beyond.", She stated
