Ogun Govt Sets To Train 4,500 Farmers, Youths, Women On Skill Acquisition

   


       

Ogun State Government has expressed its readiness to train 4,500 people, including farmers, youths and women on vocational and foundational skills, so as to make more people self-dependent and create additional jobs opportunities in the state      
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu revealed this over the weekend while meeting with the trainers; Ogun State Skills Fund Experts and Public Sector Training Service Providers (TSP), at his Office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

         
Arigbabu explained that the aim of the training was to acquaint the targeted section of the population with entrepreneurship, digital, and basic literacy knowledge

According to him,‘’ the State Government has concluded arrangements with the Skill Fund Experts and TSP to train 4,500 people cutting across farmers, youths, and women in different fields’’.

          
The Governor’s aide added that the TSP in either the public or private sector would get the trainees, and assist them to establish their businesses after the training.

        
Speaking, the Consultant, Ogun State Skills Fund, Mr. Segun Fatoki said the vocational skills would uplift the trainees to reach the National Skill Qualifications Framework (NSQF) level.
        
Contributing, the representative of public sector TSP, who is also the Director, Agency for Mass Education, Mrs. Olubunmi Oso, commended the present administration for the initiative, promising to deliver and perform above expectations.
        
Also in attendance were the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Mr.  Samuel Adeogun and the acting Rector, Gateway Industrial and Petro-Gas Institute, Mr. Ladi Alebiosu.
