Ogun Govt Promises More Intervention In Schools, Commends NECO On Conduct Of 2023 SSSCE


           




Ogun State Government has reiterated  commitment of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, to further embark on a massive infrastructural interventions in public schools in the state 

Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Science and Technology,          Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu made this known while monitoring the year 2023 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) conducted by the National Examination Council (NECO) and assessment of schools in Egba axis, assuring them of adequate provision of infrastructure, such as furniture, laboratories utensils, teachers’ tables and chairs, new classrooms, toilet facilities and many amenities that would make teaching and learning conducive.
   


     
"I want to use this opportunity to assure parents that this second tenure of Governor Dapo Abiodun will witness tremendous interventions in the education sector, because we have noted areas where there can be an improvement and we will provide them appropriately", Arigbabu said.



 He urged the parents and guardians to encourage their children and wards to be studious, shun any social vices such as, truancy, hooliganism, cultism and absenteeism that might breach the peace of the academic environment, adding that the lives of teachers were important to the government and any attack on them would be dealt with.


        
The Special Adviser however commended the authority of NECO for adequate and timely supplies of the examination materials and for putting proper arrangements in place towards ensuring the success of the examination, saying ‘’it was an indication of how organised the State use to be when it comes to anything that can add value to the citizens’’.
          
Remarking, during the visit to their schools, the Principal of Baptist Girls College, Senior, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Mrs. Elenwo Iwedi and the Vice Principal, Salawu Abiola Comprehensive High School, Osiele, Mohammed Olagesin appreciated Prof. Arigbabu and his team for the visit, pledging their loyalty to the present administration and the Ministry.
          
Other schools visited were Taidob College, Asero, Abeokuta, Nawar-ud-deen Grammar School, Obantoko, Abeokuta, and Owu African Church Central School, Ita-Iyalode, Abeokuta
