It was naira rain for players and officials of Remo Stars Football Club of Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State who finished in second position in recently concluded Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and picked CAF Champions League ticket to represent the country in the Africa's most prestigious competition for clubs
Proprietor of the club,Hon. Kunle Soname splashed a total amount of N28 million on the players, technical crew, medical crew, media team and supporters club in appreciation of their contributions and dedication to
the club which made possible for the feat recorded in the Nigeria's top flight league losing the the title narrowly by slight goal difference to Enyimba International of Aba who finished with the same nine points at the recently concluded super six play-off in Lagos
At a special lunch organized on Monday inside magnificent hall of Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo to appreciate the team for the back to back successes recorded within two seasons, the players got N20million ,the coaching and medical crew got N5million while the media team and members of the supporters club got N1.5million each
Soname who described the cash gift as a token, was full of praises for the players, technical and medical crew as well as media team and supporters of the club for their various roles in ensuring that Remo Stars moved up the ladder from the third position recorded in previous season which saw the team representing the country in the CAF Confederation Cup to second position achieved in the recently concluded season in the elite league and qualification for the CAF Champions League

He assured them of continous support for the team while charging the female side of the club to emulate Remo Stars and Beyond Limit Academy the feeder team who got promoted to the second tier Nigeria National League ( NNL) after an impressive season in the third division, Nigeria Nationwide League
Soname was highly impressed with the technical input of the Chief Coach, Daniel Ogunmodede who led the team to the glorious outing on the local scene after returning from Portugal where he had a brief coaching experience before handing Remo Stars in the just concluded season in the elite league
