The inauguration of tenth legislature of Ogun State House of Assembly earlier expected to hold this Tuesday, has been postponed to next week Tuesday, 20th June, 2023.
Clerk of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Deji Adeyemo who announced the postponement in a statement made available to Edu-biznews, however regretted any inconvenience caused by the postponement to the elected members of the house and other stakeholders
The nineth legislature of the 26-member State House of Assembly was last week Friday, dissolved to pave way for inauguration of the incoming tenth legislature
Speaker of the last legislature, Right Honourable Olakunle Oluomo, a fourth term member on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ifo-One Constituency is seeking re-election as the speaker of the house with likely opposition from Hon.Daisi Elemide, a third-term member from Odeda Constituency on the same political platform and Ogun Central Senatorial District whom some believe has what it takes to run for the exalted seat
Only 11 members of the nineth legislature will part of the tenth legislature that will be inaugurated including the then speaker of the house, Oluomo
APC still controls the incoming legislature with 17 members while the remaining nine are from the opposition, People's Democratic Party (PDP)
