Sagamu LG To Spend Over N3.6BN For 2023 Fiscal Year



       
Sagamu Local Government in Ogun State is to spend over N3.6billion for its capital projects and recurrent expenses for the 2023 fiscal year

The Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Afolabi Odulate presented the total expenditure of N3,671,754,670.00, as 2023 budget before the Legislative House at the council Secretariat in Sagamu for consideration and passage.

Odulate reiterated his commitment to the provision of dividends of democracy, in a bid to improve the living standard of the people.
      
 The LG boss stated that residents of the area deserved the best welfare package coupled with social amenities that would bring about more prosperity and development.

Breaking down the budget, the Chairman said a sum of N2,820,345,670 was earmarked for recurrent expenditure, with N567,797,500.00, as capital expenditure, while the overhead cost was put at N283,611,500.

Speaking on the effort in place to increase Internally Generated Revenue, he said, "we have resolved to redouble our efforts in ensuring that all available support would be provided for our staff, to enhance more revenue generation this year’’.

He stated that his administration had started construction of key major roads across the council area, as well as Trailer Parks, Markets and Health Centre, not relenting on the renovation of some social amenities

Odulate added that the Local Government had followed the footprint of Governor Dapo Abiodun, to ensure that people at the grassroots feel the impact of government.
