Imbibe The Ideals Of NYSC - Gov.Abiodun Tells New Corps Members In Ogun

Governor Dapo Abiodun has asked the in coming Corp members to see their  orientation exercise in Ogun State as a  starting point for the service year that will enable them to imbibe the ideals of the Scheme. 

Abiodun gave the advice at  the opening of the orientation course and swearing _ in ceremony of the 2023  Batch A stream 1 of the National  Youth Service  Corps (NYSC) camp Sagamu 

The governor represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr Oluwadare Kehinde, said the course would equip them  with skills that would enable them to meet the challenges of the service year

He added that the exercise would provide platform for interaction and cross fertilization of ideas, facilitating national integration and development. 

"I enjoin you to exihibit the highest level of responsibility integrity, patriotism loyalty, dedication, discipline and commitment to the nation throughout the orientation course and beyond, you must make apersonal decision to abadone any past  anti social conduct and disposition so that the hope that you will move our nation to higher level of achievement can be actualized " He said. 

Abiodun assured the corps of his adminisrations continual support, saying the government will provide the enabling environment for the promotion of the activities of the NYSC Scheme. " in Ogun, our programme on youth development and empowerment rank first among others, this is because we see the youth man power as an invaluable tool to effectively drive our econmic and social development programme as part of our commitment to the scheme, i have directed all Ministries, Departments and Agencies not to reject any Corp members posted to them.Ogun is proud to be one of the few State with a befitting permanent orientation camp for NYSC at Sagamu with adjoining Stadium ".

In her welcome addres, the State coordinator of the Scheme, Mrs Shokpeka Winifried advice the incoming Corp members to Shun activities that could tarnished their image. 

She said the expected mothers and married females Corp members are to relocated to their various states. 

A total of 1800 corps are expected in the camp while 1450 have been registered, 900 femals and 550 males as at the period of their swearing in ceremony.
