Ogun SUBEB Boss Assures Teachers Of More Investment On Capacity Building

Ogun State Government says it will invest massively in the education sector through capacity building of teachers in the area of Information and Communication Technology, in line with the international best practices

The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB), Dr. Femi Majekodunmi gave the assurance while addressing the teaching staff at the ongoing 2021/2022 promotion interviews in Yewa and Ijebu divisions

He described training and retraining of teachers as one of the best to enhance their productivity.

Majekodunmi assured that the present administration would continue to partner private organisations to organise series of trainings, to enable teaching staff to acquire the necessary skills for the overall benefit of the education system in the State.

According to him, “as a responsible government, we will ensure that the education sector receives adequate attention as we continue to invest massively on the training and retraining of our teachers, and make them more ICT compliant”.

The SUBEB boss urged the participating teaching staff to be more committed to their duties, conform to the laid down rules guiding their profession and ensure they leave good legacies for pupils to emulate, noting that the Commission would sustain its mandate in conducting promotion interviews, facilitate payment of monthly running costs, as well as prompt payment of salaries and allowances to the teaching force as and when due.

In their responses, some of the participants, Mrs. Kate Igele from Community Primary School, Ilupeju Oke Aro, Ilaro, and Mr. Ayodele Fatai of Christ Church Primary School, Sabo, Ijebu-Ode, expressed their happiness at the conduct of the exercise, promising to put in their best for the successes of the exercise.
