Varsity Lecturers Get Full Salaries For November As ASUU Plans For A Meeting Over Unpaid 8Months Arrears



Lecturers in Federal Universities in Nigeria have received full payment for the month of November, even as the Federal Government is insisting on no work no pay rule for the eight months period of strike by members of Academics Staff Union of Universities ASUU

The lecturers, it was learnt got the full payment for the month of November but are still expressing concern over the unpaid salaries

Edu-biznews recalled that the lecturers last October got half payment which the government described as pro-rata payment, saying the academic staff only resumed from their strike action on October 14,2022 amounting to half period of the month

President of the union, Prof . Emmanuel Osodeke is however planning to hold a strategic meeting the incoming weeks on how the issue of the unpaid salaries will be resolved with the presidency

Already academic staff at the University of Nigeria Nsukka in Enugu State, have insisted on holding on to the results of the semester examination of students until the salary arrears are paid while other ASUU members have adopted the one-day lecture free period in protest against the non-payment of the arrears
