Ogun Govt Assures Farmers Of Continuous Provision Of Tools To Boost Agric Businesses

Ogun State Government has assured farmers of the availability of mechanised tools and a conducive environment that would aid the promotion of agricultural business in the State.

The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Adeola Odedina gave the assurance while declaring open a two-day agricultural exhibition show tagged: "Showcasing the Business Opportunities in Yewaland (Agricultural Sector)" organised by Yewa Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (YECCIMA) at Empire field, Ilaro in Yewa South Local Government Area of the State.

Odedina, represented by the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics in the Ministry, Alhaji Ibrahim Alao, said the State Government would give YECCIMA  the necessary support towards making the agriculture exhibition show an annual event, congratulating its members and people of the area for the success of the exhibition.

Speaking earlier, the President of the Chamber, Otunba Wasiu Taiwo said the choice of the theme was in recognition of the present administration’s effort to raise the agriculture development profile of the State, as evident in its numerous agricultural programmes and projects targeted toward sustainable food security, industrial and economic development.

Otunba Taiwo affirmed that the Chamber was committed to effectively collaborating with the government in achieving its set goals, noting that Ogun West and the State at large would continue to grow in leaps and bounds in terms of socio-economic growth.

On his  part, the Chairman of the event, Dr. Idris Allinson, said the programme was organised to replicate what was done at the national and State levels of the Chamber, to showcase and promote agricultural businesses in Yewaland that would positively impact the indigenous farmers in the area.
