The Governor’s Elders Advisory Council in Ogun State has lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for the various interventions in the education sector as landmark achievements were rolled out.
The various intervention included, infrastructural development in schools, technology integration, the introduction of the Ogun State Education Revitalisation Agenda (OGSERA), Learners Identification Number, Construction of new furniture, Re-introduction of payment of bursary, payment of running cost, and introduction of the electronic dossier, among others.
The elders' commendation galore came up at a strategic meeting with the Council at Valley View Auditorium, Oke-Igbein, Abeokuta, revealing that the present administration’s policies and programmes in the sector had turnaround activities in schools.
Speaking, Chairman of the Council, Chief Oluneye Okuboyejo, noted the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology had displayed a high sense of responsibility in the discharge of their duties, saying the efforts had improved the standard of education and performances of learners.
Chief Okuboyejo promised continued support of the Council to the government, and to propagate the good works of the present administration.
Earlier in his presentation, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu said the giant strides of Prince Dapo Abiodun were confirmation to tackle deficiencies that had spanned years, for better improvement in academic performance and management, positing that government would not rest on its oars to further achieve more in the sector.
Arigbabu said, “as a government, I want to tell you that we have done so much in the education sector, through the rehabilitation of schools and many more interventions since the inception of this administration and I want to assure you that we will continue work towards improving the standard of all spheres of education”,.
