Ogun To Establish Major Logistics Hub , Inland Port In Kajola

Ogun State Government says plans are underway to create a major logistic hub and construct an inland port in Kajola area of Ogun Central, as part of the present administration's investment drive towards improving the socio-economic activities across the State.

Governor Abiodun, who made this known in Abeokuta at the divisional town hall meeting in preparation for 2023-2025 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and 2023 budget, said the project would address the movement of goods for import and export while decongesting the seaports in Lagos.

The Governor noted that his administration would continue to ensure equitably and even distribution of resources, as well as infrastructural development across the length and breadth of the State, saying ”over 1,300 housing units have been constructed across the State, out of which 1,100 are located in Abeokuta, with the commencement of the pilot phase of the Multi-modal Transportation System in the Egba division, among other infrastructural projects in other sectors of the economy”.

The Governor, while responding to the request by People Living with Special Needs, said their plights would be looked into, assuring that the present administration was determined to work on the implementation of the Disability Law, while sign languages would be instituted in all government events for them to have a sense of belonging.

In his remark, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, expressed confidence in the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, assuring that the Assembly would ensure speedy passage of the 2023 budget.

Speaking, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, applauded Governor Abiodun for creating an enabling environment for investments to thrive, as well as making the State peaceful, appealing for the construction of Papalanto-Interchange Road, to aid movement of heavy goods.

Also Speaking, the Chairperson, Odeda Local Government, Hon. Folashade Adeyemo, urged the State government to purchase graders and rollers for the local councils towards continuous maintenance of rural roads, and come to their aid to address inter and intra council boundary disputes, to avert security threats in Ogun Central and beyond.
