Army ,Police,NSCDC, Amotekun, Customs ,Seven Others Battle For 2022 SWAN/Security & Safety Cup




Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force , Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Amotekun Corps and Nigeria Customs Service will begin battle for the 2022 SWAN/Security and Safety Cup, which Kicks-off on 5th of September at the Muda Lawal Stadium Asero in Abeokuta , the Ogun State capital

Others competing in the second edition of football competition being organized by Ogun State chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN, are Department of Security Service DSS, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigerian Correctional Service, Ogun State Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps), Ogun State Fire Service as well as Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) and Vigilante Group of Nigeria VGN 

Ahead of  the competition a draw  ceremony was  held on Thursday at the State Secretariat of SWAN inside the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta, with officials of all participating teams in attendance

 The State Chairman of SWAN, Alhaji Akeem Akintunde and Secretary, Micheal-Azeez Ogunsiji at the draw ceremony , announced a cash prize of N250,000 for the winners, N150,000 for second placed team and N100,000 for the third placed side as well as cash prizes for individuals awards powered by the LADO Group, Pelican Valley Property and other sponsors 




In the fixtures released, Vigilante Group of Nigeria team will take on the Immigration Service side in Group A match to hold at the Mudal Lawal Stadium, DSS clash with Amotekun Corps in Group B, Ogun Fire Service team battle with defending champions, NSCDC in Group C while Nigerian Correctional Service team will try last year's finalists, Police in Group D match, all group matches holding at the same venue on 5th of September

On 6th of September, the Army side open its match in Group A against VGN team, So-Safe Corps also play their first match against DSS in Group B, Customs also begin their race for the cup with a match against the Fire Service side in Group C while TRACE kicks-start their quest for the cup with a clash with Nigerian Correctional Service team in Group D

There will be rest day for participating teams on the 7th of September while the last group matches hold at the same Muda Lawal Stadium in Asero on the 8th of September

All matches in the quarter-final , semi-final and final stages will be shifted to the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta between 9th and 17th of September
