AFCON Qualifier: Musa, Osimhen, Dessers, Simon To Lead Eagles' Attack Against Sierra Leone,SaoTome


 


Super Eagles of Nigeria Captain, Ahmed Musa, Napoli of Italy top striker, Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon (FC Nantes, France) and Cyriel Dessers (Feyenoord FC, The Netherlands) are among the strikers invited for the forthcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations AFCON Qualifiers against Sierra Leone and Sao Tome & Principe 

Other forwards include Ademola Lookman (Leicester City, England); Sadiq Umar (UD Almeria, Spain); Terem Moffi (FC Lorient, France) and Emmanuel Dennis(Watford, England)

AC Omonia of Cyprus,Francis Uzoho  top the list of invited goal keepers alongside home based; Adewale Adeyinka (Akwa United) and Adebayo Adeleye (Hapoel Jerusalem, Israel)

The list of invited defenders include  Assistant Captain William Ekong (Watford FC, England); Olaoluwa Aina (Torino FC, Italy); Abdullahi Shehu (AC Omonia, Cyprus); Zaidu Sanusi (FC Porto, Portugal) and Chidozie Awaziem (Alanyaspor FC, Turkey) 

Other defenders on the list are Oluwasemilogo Ajayi (West Bromwich Albion, England); Calvin Bassey (Glasgow Rangers, Scotland); Sani Faisal (Katsina United);
Leon Balogun (Glasgow Rangers, Scotland) and Kenneth Omeruo (CD Leganes, Spain)
 
Expected midfielders are Joseph Ayodele-Aribo (Glasgow Rangers, Scotland); Alex Iwobi (Everton FC, England); Oghenekaro Etebo (Watford FC, England); Innocent Bonke (FC Lorient, France) and Frank Onyeka (Brentford FC, England)
 


It will be recalled that the Eagles' Portuguese tactician, Jose Paseiro led the Nigeria's senior male team to the 2-1 loss to Mexico and later lone-goal defeat by Equador, the two tune up matches put together by the Nigeria Football Federation NFF, to prepare the side for the AFCON Qualifiers
