It was a hard earned victory for the highly determined Nigeria Security and Defence Corps NSCDC football team who narrowly defeated the Nigeria Police Force side by a lone-goal in a final of the Ogun SWAN Security/Safety Cup played over the weekend at the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Kuto, Abeokuta
Late minute goal by the NSCDC side in the remaining half of the keenly contested match ,ensured that they clinched the maiden edition of the competition which attracted a cash prize of N100,000
Governor Dapo Abiodun represented by the State Youth and Sports Commissioner,Dr.Oluwadare Kehinde lauded Ogun State chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN for initiating the tournament which according to him, has promoted unity among security and safety agencies
Abiodun restated the commitment of his administration to the development and promotion of sports to engage youths and discourage them from all forms of the anti-social vices including lcultism,prostitution, rituals killings amongst others
Chairman ,House of Representatives Committee on Youths and Sports ,Hon.Olumide Osoba presented the trophy to Captain of the victorious NSCDC team and dummy checgeue for N100,000
Others that participated in the maiden SWAN Security/Safety Cup ,included Ogun State Fire Service, Amotekun Corps, State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps TRACE, Vehicles Inspection Service VIS,Park Management Schemme, Vigilante Group of Nigeria VGN and NCEVEEC
