NPFL: Remo Stars Sustain Lead,Force Dakkada FC To 1-1 Draw, As Enyimba Suffer Another Loss

Remo Stars Football Club of Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State sustained their lead on Sunday with eight points and superior goals difference, ahead of Rivers United of Port-harcourt with same points in the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL, after forcing host, Dakkada FC to a one-all draw in Uyo

Muritala Lawal had put the host ahead in the thirteenth minute after connecting  a corner taken by  Solomon Kantoma in a week four match played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo 

The Sky Blue Stars drew level up four (4) minutes into the end of the first half through Samuel Anakwe who carefully slotted in a spilled ball from Loveday Anugbuo after Dayo Ojo's initial shoot from Nduka Junior's freekick.

The  result ensured that the Gbenga Ogunbote tutored side maintained their unbeaten run in four matches, winning two and drawing two 

The encounter saw both sides missing vital goal scoring opportunities in the late minutes including Samuel Akpan whose shot hit woodwork and denied Dakkada from restoring lead  while Striker Andy Okpe who connected a pass from Sodiq Ismail, missed another golden chance to give the visitors the maximum points

The league leaders will be playing at home in the next match at the Remo Stars Stadium against Plateau United who are two points behind the Sky Blue Stars on the log.
In other matches decided, Enyimba International of Aba suffered their second consecutive losses in the elite division, losing two/nil to host Kano Pillars, Rivers United and Sunshine Stars of Akure settled for a goaless draw 

Enugu Rangers thrashed visiting Niger Tornadoes 4-0, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi demolished their visitors Mountain of Fire and Miracles MFM of Lagos 3-0, Plateau United recorded the same margin against Heartland of Owerri while Champions Akwa United of Uyo suffered their first defeat in the league, after losing two/nil to host Nasarawa United in Lafia
