How Covid-19 Made Me The Best Teacher in Ogun For 2021- Dapo Kehinde





The reigning best teacher in Ogun State for the year 2021, Oladapo Kehinde has revealed how Covid-19 won him the award among other teachers in the state

Oladapo in an interview with Edu-Biznews in Abeokuta, shortly after the award ceremony,marking this year's World Teacher's Day, said he did not allow the Covid-19 lockdown to distrupt the learning of his students at the Japara High School (Junior School ), Ijebu-Igbo, during the period when schools were shutdown by the State Government in order to contain the spread of the deadly disease

" During the Covid-19 period I made sure that I engaged my students using technology to communicate with them . For me COVID-19 did not stop my teaching process, I had to use the social media platforms ", he revealed

The highly elated Oladapo was full of praises to God, Governor Dapo Abiodun and his late father ,a retired Secondary School 's principal for the winning the outstanding award 

The teacher who is N2million richer and proud owner of the two-bedroom detachable bungalow courtesy of the State Government, also attributed the success story to his determination to be best in his career
 
"Prior to my coming into the teaching profession, I have always want to be the best in what ever I do . I have a mentor, Oladokun Adeeko who was always ahead of the class, we attended the same College and university, he is a teacher per- excellence. I've always want to be like him" , he added 

Oladapo who now teaches at the Molusi College in Ijebu-Igbo, urged his fellow teachers not to give up on their students, but work on them to discover inherent talents in the children to be the best and the sky would be their starting point
