Gov Abiodun Seeks Establishment Of Air Force Base,Training School In Ogun

Governor Dapo Abiodun has unfolded his administration's plan to facilitate the establishment of the Nigeria Air force base and a training school in Ogun State, to complement its first Agro-Cargo Airport project being constructed in the state.

The Governor who revealed the plan while recieving Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Jason Gbassa in his  office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, pledged  the State Government's continuous  support to all security agencies in the State.

Abiodun in his quest to give security agencies in the State a sense of belonging, donated a pickup truck for the use of the naval command, as well as a car to the Nigeria Navy Secondary School, promising to look into the issue of infrastructure in the school.

" We want to have the Nigeria Air force base here because we are building an Agro-Cargo Airport, and we will like to have a training school here as well. We will continue to do the needful in terms of providing the needed support for all the security agencies that are present in Ogun State", he said.

The Governor also noted that his administration is working to build a port in its riverine area to attract more investment, seeking the cooperation of the Command to put a stop to attacks emanating from those areas.

Rear Admiral Gbassa had earlier said the State would benefit more from its taskforce with the deployment of more naval officers, to curb criminal activities in the area, adding that the Command is currently working towards scaling up its presence at the Tongeji oil rich area.
