Newly promoted Shooting Stars of Ibadan and Remo Stars of Ikenne-Remo on Tuesday kick-start their preparation for the top flight Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL with victories in their respective opening matches, at the ongoing Governor Dapo Abiodun's Cup pre-season tournament at the Dipo Dina Stadium International Stadium in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State
Malomo Ayodeji's 47th minute lone strike against Kwara United of Ilorin, gave the Oluyole Warriors a good start for the defence of their title in the Competition.
Also Remo Stars recorded a 2-0 win over Ottasolo FC, with goals from Tolulope Ojo and Seun Ogunribide in the 70th and 90th minutes respectively
The match between MFM FC of Lagos and Niger Tornadoes ended in a draw
Tornadoes were denied the three points in the encounter, after a last minute goal line clearance by Chinonso Michael
In another match decided, Gateway United lost 1-2 to Ijebu United in an entertaining local derby which produced three goals within the first half of the encounter.
Remo Stars coach, Gbenga Ogunbote commended the qualities of his team after their 2-0 win over Ottasolo FC.
