Ogun Deputy Gov. Cautions Students Against Internet Fraud



Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has cautioned pupils and students who participated at the just concluded two-weeks training on Information Communication Technology (ICT),against using the knowledge gained for internet fraud

She urged them to use such ICT skills acquired for the development of their academics 

Salako-Oyedele gave the charge at the grand finale of the summer training for primary and secondary school students, organised by Bureau of Information Technology, Ogun Techhub in partnership with Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Ogun State Chapter and a Non-Governmental Organisation, Omo Oye Foundation.

Represented by the Special Adviser on Primary and Secondary Education, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo, the Deputy Governor stated that it was imperative for everyone to embrace ICT to meet up with global trends

She added that Computer Base Test (CBT) had taken centre stage in most examinations.

Salako-Oyedele who says the State is in the forefront of advancing ICT in the country, urged the participants to put what they have learnt into practice, towards educational and socio-economic development of the State.

Director of Information Technology in the Bureau, Mrs. Olatundun Adekunte had in her earlier speech, commended the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration for creating enabling environment for e-learning to thrive, charging parents to encourage their wards in the use of ICT.

Adekunte called on others who are yet to participate to key into the opportunity in subsequent training, as registration is free.
