A Special Task Force set up by the Ogun state Government will begin to descend hard on producers of adultrated bottled or sachet water as from next week, Monday, September 13, as part of safety measures to contain the spread of the deadly cholera disease which has claimed several lives recently in the state
Following the recent meeting between government and producers of bottled and sachet water and Memoranda of Understanding, officials of the task-force from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and other relevant agencies at the moment are inspecting factories producing bottled and sachet water in the state
Edu-Biznews gathered that the task force will issue a sticker at rate of N6,000 per-year, to certify that the bottled or sachet water being produced by a particular company or factory are safe for drinking and such factory's vehicles must have the sticker while distributing the products to customers across the state
Such factories issued with the stickers as part of agreement, would not also be embarased with unnecessary taxes or levies by government agencies
Any of the factories without the sticker, would be seen as producers of adultrated water which are dangerous for human consumption and will be subsequently be prosecuted by government
