Southern Governors Set September For Anti-Open Grazing Law,Insist On 5% To Oil Communities

Governors in the Southern Nigeria have agreed on September 1,2021 as deadline for promulgation of the Anti-Open Grazing Law, to completely ban open grazing in their respective states and end the frequent farmers/herders clashes in the southern part of the country

The 17 Governors in a Communique issued at the end of their meeting on Monday in Lagos, also insisted on five percent and rejected the three percent profit to host Communities from the Nigeria's crude-oil proceed in the ongoing Petroluem Industry Bill being harmonized by the Senate and House of Representatives

They equally rejected the proposed 30% share of profit for exploration of oil and gas in the frontier basins mostly in the Northern part of the country and agreed that the ownership structure of the Nigeria National Petroluem Corporation NNPC should be invested in the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority as against investing such control in the Federal Ministry of Finance proposed in the PIB bill 

The Governors also insisted that Nigeria's next president must come from the Southern part of the country based on power rotation between the North and South while stressing the unity  of Nigeria based on equity, fairness, justice and peaceful co-existence 

Apparently reacting to the commado style at which personnel of Department of Security Service,DSS invaded the home of the Yoruba activist,Chief Sunday Adeyemo alias Igbhoho  in Ibadan,they  frowned at the situation where security operatives invaded their states without being duly informed as the Chief Security Officers among others agreements reached
