Anxiety Grips Ogun TEACh Applicants Over Final Screening Result

Anxiety has started gripping shortlisted applicants for the Ogun TEACh scheme who are still waiting anxiously for their letters of appointment, more than a month after the final selection process  was conducted

Edu-Biznews  gathered that the  Ogun  State Ministry of Education,Science and Technology are still compiling the results of its oral interview conducted  last 10th of June  for the shortlisted applicants

Applicants numbering 18,000 had applied for the 5,000 vacancies in the teaching service for both primary and secondary schools in the state

The applicants  sat for the Computer Based Test(CBT) on 11th of  May  conducted simultenously  in four  centres in Abeokuta,Sagamu,Ijebu-Ode and Ilaro

The Dapo Abiodun led administration had intiated the two-year voluntary teaching scheme as a stop gab measure to address the acute shortage of teachers  in the public primary and secondary schools in the state

But the applicants are yet  to report to duty because of the ongoing compilation of the results, a situation the existing teachers described as worrisome given  the workload on them

State Secretary of the Nigeria of Teachers(NUT),Comrade Samson Oyelere when contacted, says the delay in the recruitement of teachers is disturbing, saying the stress is becoming very unbearable for the teachers in the classrooms

Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools(ASUSS),Comrade Akeem Lasisi  however asked the State Government  to ensure the recruitment of the teachers before the commencement of the next academic session for the 2021/2022 academic session ,to reduce the stress being experienced by the teachers in the outgoing academic session of 2020/2021
