The Ogun State Government has asked for synergy among business owners in the hospitality and entertainment sector, towards improving the socio-economic development of the State.
The State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo said this during a meeting with the Hoteliers and Allied Businesses of the Ministry, at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta.
Dr. Taiwo said regular meetings with stakeholders would serve as an avenue to provide them with necessary support that would project their businesses to the larger communities, noting that it would also strengthen the relationship between them and the government.
"As your success in business is key to the survival of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, your collaboration as well is important to our success. This meeting will enable the government know the challenges you’re facing and draw out modalities to tackle them", the Commissioner said.
President, Performing Musician Association of Nigeria, Mr. Samuel Balogun in his response,affirmed that frequent interactive sessions with the Ministry had simplified business registration, created credit facilities, and many more opportunities, applauding Governor Dapo Abiodun for providing an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
Also speaking, the President, Hoteliers Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter, Otunba Segun Timi pledged the Association’s cooperation to move the State forward, while expressing appreciation to the State government for its continued support.
Other stakeholders at the meeting are representatives of Ogun State chapter of Performing Musician Association of Nigeria, Fuji Musician Association of Nigeria, Beer Sellers Association of Nigeria, Juju Musician Association of Nigeria, Disc Jockey Association of Nigeria, Hoteliers Association of Nigeria, Event centers Owners Association of Nigeria, among others.
