SUBEB Begins Training of Education Officers In Ogun



Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has begun a 5-day Training Workshop aimed at strengthening the capacity of its Education Quality Assurance Officers, to ensure effective service delivery in the education sector

 Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (Ogun SUBEB) Dr. Femi Majekodunmi flagged-off the  training workshop tagged Effective School Evaluation: Panacea for improving learning outcome and strengthening of the school system for 100 Education Quality Assurance Officers at the Headquarter and across the 20 Local Government Education Authorities, held at IBD International Hotel, Abiola Way, Ewang Junction, Abeokuta.

The SUBEB boss, who appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun  for the support and privilege accorded the Ogun SUBEB towards successful hosting of the training workshop, explained that the workshop was aimed at equipping the quality Assurance Officers with modern techniques needed for effective and efficient implementation of basic education in State.

 Majekodunmi expressed that the theme for the workshop was well captured and highly useful for continuous development of the school system. 

He stressed  the need for provision of all resources required in 21st century schools, to create an enabling conducive learning environment for pupils 

Also speaking the Executive Secretary, Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Dr. Hamid Bobboyi represented by Acting Zonal Director, South West, Alhaji Alabi Baba Asaju intimated the gathering of the importance of the workshop. 

He stressed that the workshop was organized to improve the capacity of quality Assurance Officers at the SUBEB and the LGEA level for efficient and effective evaluation of schools in order to enhance learning outcomes.

Another  speaker  at the event, the Director Quality Assurance UBEC, Mal Mansir Idris, ably represented by the UBEC coordinator for quality assurance training, Mr. Julius Adedoja, expressed that the training was designed to equip Quality Assurance Officers in the State with relevant and necessary skills required to conduct effective evaluation in schools and to participate effectively in the monitoring cycle of Quality Assurance as approved by the management of UBEC.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Board Secretary, Ogun SUBEB, Mr. Wasiu Olalekan Kuye, appreciated the  Dapo Abiodun's administration for the ongoing revolution in the education sector that has been acknowledged and applauded by all and sundry.

 He suggested that a day be set aside during the training for practical to be carried out in 20 Public Primary schools in the State in order to test run the skills impacted during the training.

Present at the event were Permanent Member II, Hon. Isiaka Aderounmu, Permanent Member III, Hon. Olufemi Ilori-Oduntan, and other Board Members. Other include, Director Academic and School Services, Mrs. Jokotade Agbatiogun, Director, Physical Planning and Project Implementation, Engr. Ayodeinde Akinitan, Director, Education Quality Assurance, Mrs. Kehinde Anifowose, Deputy Director, Education Quality Assurance, Mr. Enitan Olabode, Head, Public Relations Unit, Mrs. Abiola Seriki Education Officers and Information Officers.
