Ogun State Government says it is concluding the process of automating registration of business organizations, as part of efforts to simplify the process of business registration and further improve the Ease of Doing Business in the state
The State Government assures investors that arrangements are in top gear, to complete the business permit automation to promote transparency in the system
The State Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe made this known during an industrial tour of Intercontinental Distillers Limited and De-United Food Industries Limited (DUFIL), in Ota
She stated that the process would reduce the level of human interface involved in the permit registration.
Longe added that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration had been working tirelessly to ensure that Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), involved in improving the State's Ease of Doing Business ranking computerise their documentation.
Her words,"The automation of business permit process in Ogun State will soon be ready to help simplify and ease business registration. Business owners can process their permit online. This is one of the various steps we are taking to improve the Ease of Doing Business"
The Commissioner stated that strategic steps to attract more investments into the State had been taken, through the implementation of major initiatives, policies and programmes
She assured that the government would intensify effort to address road challenges in Ota axis.
Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola lauded the contributions of both companies to the economic development of the State through employment of residents and implementation of different Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects.
Aikulola called on the companies to expand their operations to other parts of the State, assuring that the Ministry would continue to provide necessary support for businesses to thrive.
In her contribution, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Industry, Trade and Investment, Ms. Sola Arobieke urged the companies to leverage on the 10,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses made available to the members of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), to curtail the spread of the pandemic in the manufacturing sector and enhance local production in the country.
Responding, the Head of Operations, Intercontinental Distillers Limited, Mr. Adesina Adegoke and the Human Resource Manager, DUFIL, Mr. Richard Ogunye said the companies would continue to support government in achieving the Public-Private-Partnership initiative
The two companies assured that they would not relent in carrying out their CSR projects to improve the living standard of people in their host communities.
