Ogun State Government has asked its contingent to the 20th National Sport Festival taking place in Edo state, to be disciplined by shunning act capable of ridiculing the image of the state at the games
The State Commissioner for Youth and Sports,Dr.Oluwadare Kehinde cautioned the athletes in Abeokuta while departing for Benin City, the Edo State capital, ahead of formal commencement of some of the events this Sunday
The Commissioner who led the state contingent to the games ,assured the athletes of adequate welfare package to motivate and reward them for good performance at the Nigeria's mini-Olympic
Responding, the athletes who appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for his moral and financial support to sports development, expressed their readiness to do the state proud, by winning laurels at their respective events at the biennial sports fiesta
Some of the athletes drawn from various sports say, Team Ogun is the team to look out for at the festival, given the number of quality athletes and national champions representing the state.
Team Ogun will be competing for laurels in twenty-nine sporting events at the games holding between 2nd and 14th April in Edo state.
