Ogun Pledges Conducive Environment For Sport Development



Ogun State Government has pledged its continuous committment to creating enabling environment for sports to thrive in the state

The State  Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr. Oluwadare Kehinde gave the assurance in his office at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, while receiving athletes who won laurels for the State last year in various sporting competitions such as Boxing, Cricket, Karate, Para-Table tennis and Wrestling.

The Commissioner who appreciated the athletes for their outstanding performances, assured them that government would make necessary arrangements that would boost their morale

He pledged to do all within his capacity to encourage and motivate them for greater exploits.

Kehinde noted that the State governments’ investment in youth development has been yielding results, saying more efforts would be intensified to boost the sector at the grassroot level.

Also speaking, the Director of Sports in the State Sport Council, Mrs. Iyabo Rotimi appreciated the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his support over the years.

Responding the Boxing Coach, Yinka Adeoti said the sports council would continue to engage their athlete in more competitions and explore opportunities around them to build them for international laurels.

 The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Engr. Olayiwola Abiodun, Director of Administration and Supplies, Mr. Tunji Kalejaiye, other Directors in the Ministry and State Sport Council were among the top officials that witnessed the event
