Kwara Utd Sustain Lead As Abia Warriors Humiliate Pillars 4-1



Kwara United of Ilorin sustained its top position with 27points, despite being held to a goaless draw by the visiting Heartland of Owerri in a week-15 match of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Sunday

Enugu Rangers also maintained its second position with 27points, after managing a slim  lone-goal win against bottom placed Adamawa United who have just 10points 

Rejuvenated Abia Warriors humiliated the visitors, Kano Pillars by four/one, to move by two spots to the 10th position with 20points 

Obaje opened scoring for the homeside in the 21st minute before Obioma doubled the lead in the 34th minute while Nwagua reduced the tally for Pillars in the 36th minute 

Obioma scored two more goals for the homeside in the 59th and 83rd minutes, to complete a hat-trick  and put the match beyond Pillars who are now dropped from the third position to fifth position with 24points 

In Makurdi, Defending Champions, Plateau United suffered a three/two loss to host, Lobi Stars who moved up the ladder with 21points , Dakkada of Uyo also defeated visiting Katsina United by a lone-goal.

Wikki Tourists compounded the woes of the relegation threatened,Warri Wolves with a lone-goal victory in Bauchi while FC Ifeanyi Ubah of Nnewi and Rivers United of Port-harcourt settled for a goaless draw.

The match involving Sunshine Stars and Nasarawa United of Lafia in Akure  holds this Monday while the encounter between MFM of Lagos and Enyimba International of Aba was shifted to a later date, because of the CAF Confederation Cup match involving the Peoples Elephants who are guests to the Orlando Pirates Fc in South Africa
