Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has bagged an award of Excellence, as the best performing Governor on healthcare delivery in Nigeria
Abiodun was recognized for his effort at providing affordable and qualitative health care services to the people.
The Governor speaking during the presentation of the award by the Association of Certified Professionals of Traditional and Complementary Alternate Medicine of Nigeria, in Abeokuta, appreciated the Association for recognising his administration’s achievement in the health sector.
Abiodun who was represented by the Chairman, Ogun State Alternate Medicine Board, Balogun Nurudeen Olaleye, says the creation of the Board is to advance the science of natural traditional medicine practice in the State, with the vision to turn around the sub-sector for optimal performance, urging the practitioners to always follow laid down guidelines by the government.
Also speaking,the State Coordinator of the Association, Dr. Stella Mofunaya said the Governor was considered for the award based on its assessment on all the southwest zone Governors’ performance on healthcare programmes.
She said “the award of Excellence presented to the Governor is to further encourage him to do more. We have noticed various developmental effort of the Governor in the health sector, especially in the creation of the Board and other monumental strides”.
