Gateway United FC head coach, Hakeem Busari is confident of his side picking its first away win, in this Wednesday week3 encounter in the 2020/21 Nigeria National League (NNL) against J Atete.
However,the Ogun state based team presently placed 10th with 3 points in group B2, Southern Conference will be facing an uphill task,taking on table toppers, Julius Atete with 4 points at Otujeremi stadium in Ughelli.
But Coach Busari in a statement by the club's media officer, Moses Ojewumi, says his boys are well poised to ensure a decent outing when both teams clash in Ughelli,
The former Shooting Stars' tactician said that the technical crew would not leave anything to chance in its approach against J.Atete.
"We will leave nothing to chance. The players are in high spirit. They have drawn strength from the hard fought win over Crown FC on Saturday, and this is just one of the positives ahead of the match. Like I said on Saturday, it's a marathon, but we are not conceited by that because every point counts. In matchday 2, two away victories were recorded, that could just be a pointer to a new dawn this season", he stated.
"We are hopeful. The technical crew has been up and doing, preparing the players mentally and physically. No doubt, J Atete is a good team, they have won one and drawn away, but we are battle ready for them", Busari added
J. Atete defeated Abia Comets 2-1 in their season opener and drew against Holy Arrows in Delta.
Another Ogun State based side, Remo Stars who suffered a 4-0 humiliating defeat to Bayelsa United of Yenegoa, will be seeking to redeem its pride against visiting Abia Comets in Ikenne-Remo.
Edu-Biznews recalled that the Sky Blue Boys were ruthless in their league opener against Gaddosky, thrashing the visitors 5-0.
