AFROGRAMS Old Students Association Gets New Exco

The Old Students Association of the famous African Church Grammar school Abeokuta(ACGSOSA) has elected new National Executive Council to run its affairs for the next four years.

The well attended 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the association held on Saturday  at the school's premises at Ita-Iyalode Abeokuta,saw  Dr. Babatunde Akinsola emerging as National President, Mr. Bayo Ogundimu(1st National Vice President) ,Barr. Bola Shittu( 2nd National Vice President), 
Mr. Adeyemi Amusa( National General Secretary ),Mrs. Adenike Ogunsemire (National Asst. General Secretary), Mr. Babatunde Soaga(National Financial Secretary ) and Mr. Muiz Adegbenro ( National Social Secretary) 

Also elected at the AGM are,Miss Damilola Bello(National Publicity Secretary), Mr. Michael Odunlami(National Auditor 1),
Engr. Tajudeen Oketokun( National Chief Whip) ,Barr. Rotimi Adegbenro
(Legal Adviser) Mr. Kehinde Dosunmu(National Treasurer ) and Mr. Wale Akinyemi(National welfare Officer)

The newly elected National President, Dr.Akinsola promised to initiate meaning ful  projects, to consolidate on the outstanding achievement of the immediate past Mr Adewale Olutayo FCA led executives

For Olutayo, the immediate past National President, it was a mission accomplished during the last four years of piloting the affairs of ACGSOSA, between 2016 and 2020, during which Allied African Church Grammar School Old Students' Cooperative Multipurpose Society Limited was  established, to provide loan facilities for members to grow their respective businesses.

"Four years ago, my humble concern was to put in place a welfare development package for members of the Old Students Association of our dear school. There is no doubt that we have laid the solid foundations for a future of orderly, sustainable and profitable growth of Registered Cooperative members. We have accordingly undertaken an ambitious range of structural actions and decisions that are today transforming most of our members' businesses, financial and operational dimensions", he stated

He solicited for members' similar support to the new executives to excel while appreciating the support of the Body Of Past President of ACGSOSA and revered Elders for the successes recorded so far.

Also addressing the AGM, Mrs Tolulope Onafowokan who is the immediate past National General Secretary of the association, said that the USA/Canada branch of the association provided the school with solar power for alternative source of energy while Club 905 members renovated a block of four classroomds to an appreciable standard, as part of activities marking their 25th anniversary of leaving the school.

She added that the during the period under review, Club 9703 presented ceiling fans to the staff rooms of the school, Club 9602 members also donated a complete table tennis set, distributed excercise books to senior class students and facilitated a seminar on Rape, consent and  rape culture while Club 827 renovated the Biology Laboratory in the school.

According to Onafowokan, Club 8490 members renovated a block of two classrooms to mark their 30th anniversary of leaving the school, Club 9905 donated two thousand,five hundred notebooks to students while Club 784 members donated shelves to the newly built Library in commemoration of their 35th anniversary of leaving the school.

Highlight of the AGM, included the presentation of award by the cooperative society of the association to the immediate past National President in appreciation of his contribution to the successes recorded so far by the organisation
