Ndifreke opened scoring in just five minutes of the encounter played at the Next of Champion Stadium in Uyo, before the visiting Abia Worriors drew level in the 27th minute through Ibukun Harrison.
The homeside regained their lead when Ndifreke increased his goals tally from the penalty spot in the 60th minute, to secure the maximum three points for Akwa United who are now in the 5th position on the table with four points from three matches.
Edu-Biznews recalled that Abia Worriors had lost all the three matches played, the first was a lone goal defeat by Enyimba International of Aba in the derby, while they suffered home defeat to Rivers United in the second match, before recording the third losses in the hands of Akwa United in Uyo.
In the remaining matches today, MFM will host Sunshine Stars of Akure in Lagos,Lobi Stars will entertain Warri Wolves in Makurdi, Rivers United will be at home in Port-harcourt against Kwara United of Ilorin while Enyimba International will take on visiting Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in Aba.
In other NPFL day-three matches, Jigawa Golden Stars will play host to Enugu Rangers ,FC Ifeanyi Ubah welcome Dakkada of Uyo, Katsina United will clash with visiting Adamawa United, Plateau United will be redeeming their image at home in Jos against another troubled side, Heartland of Owerri while high riding Nasarawa United try Kano Pillars for size in Lafia.
