Another shift in the date for the kick-off of the Nigeria National League (NNL) is imminent, following the failure of most of the 46 club sides in the country's second tier league, to meet up with the requirements for registration.
The league which suffered several postponements, is expected to commence this weekend with matches slated for between January 29 and 31.
But the organizers of the Nigeria National League ,NNL are set to hold an EMERGENCY Congress at the Salt Lake Hotel,Abakaliki,Ebonyi State capital, this Saturday 30thJanuary,2021 to take critical decisions on the way forward.
According to a statement by Amar Ignis, the Media & Communications Officer of NNL, only one club from the lot,has met the registration conditions for the 2020-2021 season,as at the time of putting this release together.
The statement added that this development necessitated adjustment in the kick off date for the new season earlier schedule to begin Saturday 30th January,2021.
The league is now adjusted to kick-off on Wednesday, 3rd February, subject to Congress debate and ratification .
NNL has therefore, urged the clubs yet to comply with registration formalities without further delay ON or BEFORE Monday 1st February,2021.
The none compliance by any club it warned ,means AUTOMATIC withdrawal from the League,as enshrined in the NNL rule book.
