The management of the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) Lagos has shutdown the Institution's medical centre, following the last Sunday's death of one of its workers, Mr. M.A. Omoighe.
Also closed the Academic Planning Unit of the college and directed students to vacate the hostels latest Thursday.
Omoighe, a staff of the Academic Planning Unit of the college, was said to have died of COVID-19 complications.
A memo by the institution's Acting Registrar, Dr. S.O. Momodu, explained that the two facilities were shut on Monday to contain the spread of the virus, following a review of Omoighe’s death.
The memo added that both the Academic Planning Unit and the medical centre would remain shut for two weeks, saying that the college would be decontaminated.
The college however asked workers, who had contact with the late Omoighe and family members to go on self-isolation and come forward for COVID-19 test
