CAF Confederation Cup: Rivers United Battle Enyimba For Ticket





It will be a clash of Titans in the CAF Confederation Cup, as  two Nigerian  clubsides, Rivers United of Port-harcourt and Enyimba International of Aba battle for a ticket to play in the money spinning group stage of the Africa second tier, clubs Championship.

The Nigerian League Leaders completed the demolition  of Bloemfontein Celtic of South Africa three/nil on Saturday in the rescheduled return leg of the CAF Confederation Cup second round match played in the neigbouring Benin Republic, to record a massive five/zero aggregate score-line, having beaten their opponents two/nil in the first leg away tie.

An opening half's brace from Godwin Aguda in first minute and 33rd minute and Omoware Fortune's third goal in 59th in the second half confirmed the superiority of the Coach Stanley Eguma tutored side over their South African opposition.

The Port-harcourt based side will now trade tackles with their fellow NPFL club, Enyimba International of Aba who dropped from the CAF Champions League, after failing to upturn the 3-0 deficit in the hands of the Sudanese , El-Merrikh.

Edu-Biznews recalled that the  Peoples' Elephants only managed a slim two/one win in the return leg in Aba,  against their opponents from Sudan.

Winners of the two legged match will qualify for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
