Candidates who sat for the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in Nigeria,will finally get their results on Monday.
One million, five hundred and forty-nine thousand,five hundred and sixty three (1, 549, 563) candidates in 19,129 schools nationwide wrote the examination conducted between August 17 and September 12, shifted from its initial April 6 commencement date because of the Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC)Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Demianus Ojijeogu announced the new date via a WhatsApp message on Sunday.
According to him ,"the Head of National Office, Mr. Patrick Areghan will announce the release of results of May/June 2020 WASSCE on Monday".
Ojijeogu said that the announcement of the results would hold on Monday, at New Hall, WAEC National Office, Yaba, Lagos.
Edu-Biznews recalled that the African sub-regional examination body was expected to have released the results on Wednesday, October 28, but postponed it till this week because of the tensed security situation caused by the #EndSARS protest in the country, which affected some of the WAEC facilities .
The release of the WASSCE results will brighten the chances of candidates seeking admission into various tertiary institutions for the 2020/2021 academic session.
