TESCOM To Give Priority To Recruitment Of Teachers In Ogun Secondary Schools



Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has promised to give priority to recruitment of Teachers in the public secondary schools in the state.

Governor Dapo Abiodun had during the 2020 World Teachers Day, announced plan for the recruitment of 1,655 Graduate Teachers which had reached advance stage to fill the vacancies in the public schools.

Chairmanship nominee for TESCOM, Evangelist Joshua Ifede speaking with Edu-Biznews shortly after the recent screening of newly appointed members of the commission at the State House of Assembly,Oke-mosan Abeokuta, said that the agency would work closely with the State Government on the recruitment process.

He explained that the commission would carry out audit of its teaching staff in public secondary schools, to determine how to address the shortage of Teachers affecting the system.

Joshua expressed confidence in the Commitment of Governor Dapo Abiodun to fix the problem of inadequate teaching staff, to ensure qualitative Secondary School education.

Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Olakunle Oluomo and the Education Science and Technology Committee's Chairman, Ademuyiwa Adeyemi had expressed concern over the shortage of teaching personnel, urging the nominees of TESCOM, to urgently address the problem, if confirmed by the lawmakers.
