Legendary Former National Basketball Coach and Baba Ijo of The African Church Cathedral, Abeokuta, Chief Alabi Adelanwa has pledged his commitment to the completion of the church's ongoing Secretariat complex at Ita- Iyalode in Owu area of the Ogun State capital.
Chief Adelanwa who was full of appreciation to those who contributed to his successful installation as the Baba Ijo of the church on June 27, 2026, assured that every step would be taken to facilitate the needed financial resources for the completion of the project, so as to ensure seamless running of the church's affairs
The Baba Ijo in an interview with Edu-biznews at his home in Abeokuta , acknowledged the corporate support of Mercyland Academy and Mercyland International College Abeokuta, his daughter, Erelu Omo Kehinde Adetutu Adelanwa Sobayo, former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, leaders and entire members of the church, members of his royal family, and other numerous notable individuals for their support
He described his Installation as Baba-Ijo as a divined call to be more committed to the service of God and humanity, expressing readiness to commit the rest of his life to the service of the church through mobilization of the needed financial resources for various projects of the church
Prince Adelanwa promised to use his connection in the corporate world and sports circuit to source for the needed support for propagation of the activities of the church while promoting the spirit of unity among members of the church
