Ogun State House of Assembly has concluded arrangements for holding of a two--day stakeholders' meeting on two bills including the one titled: "H.B. No. 022/OG/2025 -The Ogun State Agricultural Advancement and Sustainability Bill, 2025", beginning from this Wednesday 29th July, 2026 at 10.00am.
The Clerk/ Head of Legislative Service, Mr. Sakiru Adebakin in a statement , said the bill was meant to promote sustainable agricultural development, food security and economic growth through mechanization, genetic improvement, farm-settlement rejuvenation, research, private-sector participation, youth empowerment, market access, artificial intelligence and agricultural security, and for other related matters.
The second bill titled: "H.B. No. 036/OG/2026 - Ogun State Safe Termination of Pregnancy Law, 2026"; according to the statement would hold on Thursday, 30th July, 2026, at 10.00am prompt.
The bill, the statement stated, would help reduce maternal morbidity and mortality, promote safe motherhood and reproductive health rights, establish the conditions for the safe termination of pregnancy in accordance with legal indications and for connected purposes.
The public hearing, Mr. Adebakin noted would assist the State Lawmakers in assessing the stakeholders input in achieving effective and all encompassing bills.
All invited stakeholders are enjoined to be seated by 9.30am prompt each day.
